The Mega Millions jackpot has reached an estimated $843 million for the drawing on Friday, November 7, 2025. This marks the eighth-largest jackpot in the history of the game.

With increased interest as the prize grows, the New Mexico Lottery is reminding participants to play responsibly. David Barden, CEO of the New Mexico Lottery, stated, “It only takes one ticket for a chance to win.”

While many players focus on winning the top prize, Mega Millions also offers non-jackpot prizes. Each play includes a random multiplier that increases non-jackpot winnings by factors ranging from 2X up to 10X. So far, six players in New Mexico have matched five white balls without matching the Mega Ball and have won between $1 million and $4 million.

Tickets for Mega Millions cost $5 per play and are available in 45 states, Washington D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings take place at 9:00 PM Mountain Time every Tuesday and Friday.

Since its inception in 1996, proceeds from lottery sales in New Mexico have contributed over $1.09 billion to education funding in the state. As a result, more than 155,000 students have received Legislative Lottery Scholarships to attend college.
