In a post made at 16:20 UTC, Rep. Leger Fernández stated, "We’ll keep fighting until Trump releases the money so 42 million Americans don’t go hungry this weekend." At 17:48 UTC, she followed up with another message: "Gracias, hermano Senador! " Later that day at 19:40 UTC, she addressed healthcare policy by writing, "Our healthcare system is already broken. Instead of fixing it, Republicans want to take a hammer to the parts that actually help working Americans."
Leger Fernández represents New Mexico's third congressional district and has a history of electoral victories. She won her most recent general election in 2024 against Sharon Clahchischilliage and previously secured wins in both the 2022 and 2020 elections against Alexis Martinez Johnson.
