On October 3, Governor Lujan Grisham highlighted the upcoming annual balloon event in Albuquerque. She wrote, "The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta lifts off Saturday for its 53rd year! Nothing compares to the majestic sight of hundreds of balloons rising over our beautiful high desert. Wishing everyone blue skies, safe flights and unforgettable memories @balloonfiesta."
Later that day, she addressed New Mexico’s response to gaps in federal support for social services. In her post dated October 3, she stated, "When federal support falls short, New Mexico steps up — that's our commitment to families who depend on these services. This funding protects the basics: food security, affordable health care, and public broadcasting." The tweet included a link to further information about these efforts.
On October 4, Governor Lujan Grisham paid tribute to Jane Goodall following her recent death. She remarked in her tweet: "Last week we lost a living legend who changed how we see the world. Jane Goodall didn't just study chimpanzees—she taught us about compassion, connection, and our shared responsibility to protect this planet.

The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is an annual event that draws visitors from around the world to New Mexico each autumn for mass ascensions of hot air balloons over the Rio Grande Valley. It has become one of the largest ballooning events globally since its inception more than fifty years ago.
Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has previously emphasized New Mexico's efforts to bolster critical social programs when federal assistance is limited. These programs include initiatives aimed at increasing access to food resources through expanded nutrition benefits; improving affordability in healthcare coverage; and supporting educational content via public broadcasting networks.
