Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández has represented New Mexico’s third congressional district since winning election in 2020. She won reelection in both subsequent cycles; most recently in 2024 she defeated Sharon Clahchischilliage with approximately 41.8% of the vote compared to Clahchischilliage’s 43.7%. In previous elections she prevailed over Alexis Martinez Johnson—58.2% to 41.8% in 2022 and by a similar margin in her initial win in 2020.
