On September 25, 2025, Leger Fernández wrote, "Trump’s health care cuts are already closing rural hospitals, spiking premiums, and could strip coverage from 15 million Americans. The following day, on September 26, she stated, "Attention: Trump just made prescription drugs even more expensive. https://t.co/BiO8yu19Eq".
Later on September 26, Leger Fernández addressed actions taken by Trump's Department of Justice: "Trump’s DOJ indicted James Comey days after Trump demanded they go after his political enemies. Comey became a political target because he refused to pledge personal loyalty to Trump and investigated Trump and his campaign. This is what mobsters do. https://t.co/Kq8MD1bgoh".
Leger Fernández has held her seat in Congress since first winning election in 2020. She defeated Alexis Martinez Johnson in both the 2020 and 2022 general elections with significant margins—winning by over 17 percentage points in each contest—and prevailed again in the 2024 general election against Sharon Clahchischilliage.
