Eastern New Mexico University has been recognized in the 2026 U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges Rankings, earning distinctions in several categories.
The university’s highest ranking was in the Social Mobility category, where it placed 54th out of 113 regional universities in the West. The social mobility rankings assess how well schools serve economically disadvantaged students who are less likely to complete college compared to their peers.
James Johnston, ENMU Chancellor, commented on the recognition: “We know that a college education changes the lives of our students and their families for the better. Being recognized for enhancing social mobility is a reminder of the important work we do to provide access and opportunity to our students.”
In addition to its ranking for social mobility, Eastern New Mexico University was listed among the top 50 public universities in the West and within the top 100 regional universities in that region.
