Wojskowe Zakłady Elektroniczne S.A. (WZE S.A.) and Lockheed Martin have completed a production line validation for two key components of the Patriot Advanced Capability – 3 Missile Segment Enhancement (PAC-3 MSE) system as part of the WISLA offset program in Poland.
The audit, which included participation from the US Government, focused on certifying that WZE S.A.’s Attitude Control Section (ACS) and Attitude Control Motor (ACM) components meet required quality, safety, and compliance standards. This step is seen as essential before finalizing these production lines and moving into full-scale manufacturing.
“Conducting Production Line Validations is a huge step made by WZE on the path to join Global PAC-3 MSE Supply Chain and an important milestone in WISLA Program's E4a Offset Commitment. After five years of execution of the Offset Agreement, it is clear that this is a fruitful and mutually beneficial way of cooperation, as it opens both U.S. and Polish participants to new opportunities,” said Damian Gorzelany, Chief Executive Officer of Wojskowe Zakłady Elektroniczne S.A.
The ACS and ACM are integral for guiding the missile’s trajectory and ensuring precise impact using Hit-to-Kill technology. The ACMs are located within the ACS structure and function by firing explosively to adjust the missile’s course for accurate targeting.
“Partnering with Polish industry is a win for the U.S., Poland and our worldwide PAC-3 users,” said Robert Orzylowski, director of Poland and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) for Lockheed Martin. “The new ACS and ACM production lines will allow WZE SA to join the global PAC-3 MSE supply chain and further cement our partnerships with the Polish defense industry for the long-term.”
The PAC-3 MSE forms a significant part of Poland’s air and missile defense capabilities. Its technology enables detection, tracking, and interception of various threats such as tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, advanced threats, and aircraft through direct body-to-body contact.
Lockheed Martin describes itself as a global defense technology company focusing on innovation across multiple domains to deliver advanced technologies.
