Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has used her social media platform to highlight ongoing policy initiatives and recognize community contributions in New Mexico. In a series of posts dated September 17 and 18, 2025, she addressed issues ranging from health insurance tax credits to child care access and military appreciation.
On September 17, 2025, Governor Lujan Grisham drew attention to the reliance of thousands of residents on federal support for health coverage. She wrote, "27,000 New Mexicans depend on federal health insurance tax credits to afford coverage. These credits are literally keeping families healthy and financially stable at a time when the cost of living in America continues to rise. Congress: Don’t let these expire. Extend them now."
Later that day, she announced an expansion of child care support across the state. In her words, "No more choosing between work and child care costs. New Mexico is eliminating ALL barriers to quality child care. Starting Nov. 1, #childcare in #NewMexico is free for ALL families. Every child deserves a great start, and every parent deserves peace of mind. @NewMexicoECECD" This policy change reflects ongoing efforts by the state government to improve access to early childhood education.
On September 18, Governor Lujan Grisham acknowledged the presence of several Air Force installations within New Mexico’s borders on the occasion of the U.S. Air Force’s birthday. She stated, "New Mexico is proud to be home to Cannon, Holloman, and Kirtland Air Force Bases. On the U.S. Air Force’s birthday, we honor the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of our airmen and their families. Thank you for your service. #AirForceBirthday @HollomanAFB @KIRTLAND377ABW"
Governor Lujan Grisham's statements come as part of broader efforts in New Mexico aimed at expanding social services such as affordable health coverage through federal tax credits and universal access to free child care starting November 1st.
