District One has provided a 95% funding match to ten local entities, resulting in an investment of $16,653,803 for improvements to roadway transportation projects. The funds are intended to support infrastructure enhancements across the region.
Across New Mexico, the Department of Transportation (NMDOT) distributed $100,435,817 through its Transportation Project Fund program. This funding supported a total of 71 projects statewide.
Aaron Chavarria, District One Engineer, said, “State investments in local entities serve as essential resources for improving roadways, bridges, and airports. Without these funding opportunities, many communities would be unable to undertake the critical infrastructure projects necessary to sustain growth and development throughout New Mexico.”
The Transportation Project Fund aims to help local governments complete necessary transportation-related work that might otherwise be unaffordable.
