Taos Ski Valley in New Mexico is marking its 70th anniversary with several new developments and improvements. Located in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Taos Ski Valley is enhancing its offerings both on and off the mountain. This winter, the resort will introduce a new triple chair lift, expanded women's and kids' ski programs, and increased flight services.
John Kelly, CEO of Taos Ski Valley, emphasized the unique blend of "world-class big mountain skiing" and New Mexican culture that the resort offers. He said that this winter will bring "better flight access than ever before," along with enhancements to improve guest experiences.
Flight access to Taos has been improved with more flights available at Taos Regional Airport. A new route from Contour Airlines will connect directly to Denver International Airport five days a week. JSX will continue offering nonstop flights from Dallas, Austin, San Diego (Carlsbad), and Los Angeles (Burbank). More details can be found at www.FlyTaos.com.
On-mountain enhancements include replacing Lift 7 with a new triple chair and adding RFID gates for easier lift access. The Blake hotel at the base of the mountain offers sophisticated accommodations and has been rated as the #1 ski hotel in America by Powder Magazine.
New features for guests staying at The Blake include complimentary private guides for those booking larger suites or penthouses, a wellness package offering discounts on spa treatments, and holiday services like gift shopping and in-room Christmas trees.
The base village has also seen updates with new shops like Taos Kids, which offers toys and clothing for children. New EV charging stations have been installed for faster service.
For skiers, there are special promotions such as $70 lift tickets through December 17, 2025, celebrating the resort's founding year of 1955-56. Expanded seasonal lockers are now available near the ice-skating rink.
The resort continues to offer its renowned ski school programs for all ages and abilities. Passholders for winter 2026 can enjoy exclusive perks including heli-skiing opportunities at Silverton Mountain.
Taos Ski Valley remains committed to sustainability as North America's only Certified B Corporation ski resort. It aims to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2030 while participating in initiatives like the Mountain Collective and Ikon Pass programs.
