The New Mexico Department of Public Safety has announced the launch of its new social media accounts across several platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X, Bluesky and LinkedIn. Updates and news will also continue to be posted on the department’s official website at www.dps.nm.gov.
According to Cabinet Secretary Jason Bowie, “We’re pleased to offer these new communications platforms about all the good work the Department of Public Safety is doing for the people of New Mexico. We are committed to providing the highest quality of public safety services and that includes communications – to share what we do each and every day.”
The department began posting content on its social media channels as of September 11. These accounts will provide information such as updates from the Missing Persons Clearinghouse, Forensics Lab activities, and law enforcement academy graduation dates.
The New Mexico Department of Public Safety includes several divisions: New Mexico State Police, New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy, Information Technology Division, Technical Support Division—which houses both the Forensics Lab and Records Bureau—and Administrative Services Division overseeing grants, finance, budget and human resources.
