The University of New Mexico Lobos secured a 32-22 victory over Idaho State, thanks to two consecutive touchdown drives in the fourth quarter. This win marked head coach Jason Eck's first at UNM, bringing his overall record to 27-14 after three seasons at Idaho.

Scottre Humphrey was instrumental for the Lobos, rushing for 141 yards and scoring two touchdowns. On defense, Jaxton Eck made significant contributions with 15 tackles, a forced fumble, and a quarterback hurry.

At halftime, UNM led 14-10. Idaho State began the second half with an onside kick recovered by Aaron Smith but failed to capitalize as UNM went four-and-out. Trajan Sinatra then tied the game with a 56-yard field goal, matching the longest in University Stadium history. Idaho State took a brief lead with another field goal from Sinatra before UNM regained control.

Damon Bankston's 49-yard kickoff return set up a scoring opportunity for UNM, though they settled for a Luke Drzewiecki field goal. Tytan Mason scored for Idaho State, giving them a 22-17 lead after missing a two-point conversion.

UNM responded with Jack Layne connecting on key passes to Dorian Thomas during their go-ahead drive. Scottre Humphrey converted crucial downs before Bankston scored and Layne completed a two-point conversion pass to Thomas, putting UNM ahead 25-22.

The Lobos extended their lead when Humphrey scored again following significant gains by D.J. McKinney and Bankston. The team then held off Idaho State's offense to secure the win.
