ARA has received a 24-month contract from the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Eglin Munitions Directorate, to act as the System Design Agent for the development of a prototype air-to-ground Next Generation Penetrator weapon system. As part of this agreement, ARA will produce and test both sub-scale and full-scale prototype munitions. The purpose of these efforts is to assess capabilities against hard and deeply buried targets that present significant challenges to U.S. national security.

The contract includes an exclusive partnership with The Boeing Company, which will contribute to tail kit development and support integration of the weapon system. ARA will focus on design maturation, using its experience in guided and penetrating munitions.

“We are honored to continue supporting AFLCMC with innovative solutions that advance their mission. The ARA-Boeing Team has unique expertise, and this award emphasizes the trust that AFLCMC EBD places in ARA’s proven capabilities and long-standing commitment to excellence,” said Rob Sues, President and CEO of ARA.

Over the last ten years, ARA has been involved in the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of every large penetrating weapon system used by the U.S. Air Force. The company’s systems have undergone extensive testing and operational deployment. Its technology suite includes digital engineering tools, validated models, navigation and guidance solutions, as well as prototyping processes and established supplier networks.

According to ARA, these efforts highlight its role in providing solutions aimed at strengthening national security through advancements in next-generation penetrating weapon systems.
