Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández addresses survivor advocacy and rural healthcare on social media

Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández, a U.S. Representative from New Mexico, posted several updates on her official Twitter account on September 4, 2025, addressing issues ranging from survivor advocacy to rural healthcare and political commentary.

In one post dated September 4, 2025, Leger Fernández shared her experience meeting with survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse as part of the Democratic Women’s Caucus: "Today, the Democratic Women’s Caucus met with survivors of Epstein’s abuse. We cried together, but we won’t stop at tears. Their message was clear: this isn’t just about the Epstein files, it’s about protecting every woman and girl in America from predators like him and his".

Later that day, she commented on ongoing political discourse involving former President Donald Trump: "We asked, you delivered. Keep sending your new names in—apparently Trump needs them!" (September 4, 2025).

Addressing healthcare concerns in rural communities and communication with federal officials, Leger Fernández wrote: "We all understood you, @SenatorLujan. I wonder if Secretary Kennedy needs some help understanding plain English and that’s why he still hasn’t replied to our letters about protecting rural hospitals? " (September 4, 2025).

Leger Fernández has served as a member of Congress since winning her seat in the 2020 general election against Alexis Martinez Johnson. She retained her seat in subsequent elections—defeating Martinez Johnson again in 2022 and Sharon Clahchischilliage in 2024.
