Bernalillo County Clerk Michelle S. Kavanaugh has introduced a new feature on the Clerk’s website aimed at enhancing access to information and services for all users. The tool, known as Recite Me, is designed to provide a more inclusive online experience by simplifying access to digital content and essential services.
Kavanaugh emphasized the importance of diversity and inclusion in their practice, stating, "As part of our diversity and inclusion practice, we want to serve every voter and resident of Bernalillo County, that means meeting people where they are, whether online, in person, or through language and accessibility support." She added that they are proud to offer a website experience that is inclusive.
The Recite Me toolbar can be accessed by clicking the button located in the bottom left corner of the Clerk’s website berncoclerk.gov. It includes features such as screen reader and magnifier tools, on-demand translation in over 100 languages, adjustable fonts, colors and spacing for improved readability, a built-in dictionary, ruler and reading mask, as well as custom styling options for users with neurodiverse needs.
This initiative aligns with the mission of the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce to foster community engagement and accessibility.
