New Mexico’s outdoor recreation industry will be the focus of a statewide conference taking place in Gallup from September 8 to 10. The Outdoor Economics Conference, now in its eighth year, will be held at Red Rock Park and Conference Center.
The event brings together leaders from across New Mexico to discuss the development of the state’s outdoor economy. Attendees include representatives from government agencies, tribal and pueblo communities, industry professionals, and advocacy groups. The agenda features panel discussions, trips to local outdoor sites, and networking receptions.
According to conference organizers, key supporters of New Mexico’s recreation sector include the N.M. Outdoor Recreation Division, the N.M. Department of Tourism, the N.M. Department of Finance Administration, and the Creative Industries Division within the Economic Development Department.
Gallup Mayor Louie Bonaguidi said: “Hosting the 2025 New Mexico Outdoor Economics Conference is an honor for us. Gallup is the adventure capital of New Mexico. We are excited to promote our outdoor recreational assets. Partnerships across the community have led to several successful outdoor projects and events.
