Los Luceros Historic Site in Alcalde, New Mexico, is set to host its annual Fall Festival on Sunday, September 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event celebrates the season's change and Northern New Mexico's cultural heritage. It features various activities for all ages, including art and craft sessions led by site staff, children's book readings and signings, and performances by Moving Arts Española and musician Martin Martinez from Taos.

The festival will also include a wildlife demonstration by the New Mexico Wildlife Center. Additionally, visitors can explore the "Eight Sites, One History: Explore the Past at New Mexico Historic Sites" exhibit through the Wonders on Wheels mobile museum from the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs. The Bradbury Science Center education truck will be available for exploration, while the New Mexico Office of Archaeological Studies will offer hands-on activities.

"We are thrilled to welcome back old and new friends this year for a very family-oriented event," said site manager Michelle Zupan. She highlighted that Martin Martinez is a talented musician eager to perform at the festival and praised Moving Arts Española for their consistent contributions over the years.

Attendees can enjoy food from local vendors such as Fusion Tacos, Vigilante Pizza, and LocCo Dogs while supporting artisans throughout the historic district. Visitors will also have access to Los Luceros Historic Site buildings and farm animals like Navajo-Churro sheep, donkeys, and goats.

Admission is priced at $10 for adults and $5 for children aged 16 and younger. Tickets can be purchased online at my.nmculture.org/44496/48788. Free admission is offered to Tribal members, NM disabled veterans, NM foster families, Museum of New Mexico Foundation members, Amigos of Los Luceros members, and DCA staff/family at the visitor center.

Los Luceros Historic Site spans 148 acres along the Río Grande's east bank north of Alcalde. Its centerpiece is a Territorial-style Hacienda rich with history. The property also includes a chapel from the 19th century, a Victorian cottage, carriage house, guesthouse, and farmyard.
