Trailblazing women in space highlighted at upcoming museum lecture

The New Mexico Museum of Space History is set to host its next Launch Pad Lecture on September 5, focusing on the "Women of Space." Carolyn Peeler will be the guest speaker at this event. Peeler plans to discuss the significant achievements of women recognized by NASA as pioneers in the space program. Her lecture will cover their varied backgrounds, contributions to space exploration, and lasting impact on STEM fields.

Carolyn Peeler brings a wealth of experience to her role as a speaker. She is a U.S. Air Force veteran with 25 years of service and has held various positions in Civil Service at Holloman Air Force Base. Currently, she is the President of both the Holloman Tuskegee Airman Chapter and the Desert Basin Toastmasters Club. With over three decades in Toastmasters International, she has achieved the rank of Distinguished Toastmaster. Peeler holds dual master’s degrees in Project Management and an MBA from the University of Maryland.

The lecture will take place on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM MDT at the New Horizons Dome Theater within the New Mexico Museum of Space History located at 3198 State Road 2001, Alamogordo, NM 88310. Admission is free, with coffee and donuts available for attendees.

The Launch Pad Lecture Series occurs monthly on the first Friday and features museum staff alongside special guest speakers discussing various topics related to space history and its future. More details can be found on their website at www.nmspacemuseum.org.
