On August 19, 2025, Bregman announced the sentencing of Jesse Parra in connection with a high-profile homicide case. He stated, "Final Defendant Sentenced in Murder of Albuquerque Academy Student Jada Gonzales Today, a judge sentenced 21-year-old Jesse Parra to 12 years in the New Mexico Corrections Department for his role in the 2022 shooting death of 18-year-old Jada Gonzales, a beloved Albuquerque". This sentencing marks the conclusion of court proceedings related to the killing of Jada Gonzales, which drew significant public attention since it occurred in 2022.
The following day, on August 20, Bregman recognized an analyst from his office at a local event. He wrote, " GOOD JOB, SABRINA! Later that same day, Bregman reported on juvenile crime enforcement at a local school. He posted, "A 16-year-old has been charged with unlawful carrying of a deadly weapon on school premises. Today, APS Police arrested the teen at West Mesa High School. He has been booked into a juvenile facility and is scheduled to appear in court later this week on the charges." The incident reflects ongoing concerns about weapons on school grounds and law enforcement responses within Albuquerque Public Schools.
