Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández addresses Trump actions and community outreach in new posts

Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández, a U.S. Congresswoman from New Mexico, posted a series of tweets between August 14 and 15, 2025, addressing recent political events and community initiatives.

On August 14, Rep. Leger Fernández wrote: "Trump just sent masked agents to the press conference where California legislators unveiled their Election Rigging Response Act.

@realDonaldTrump, we won’t be intimidated by authoritarian tactics.

We know you are afraid of voters who will reject your policies of raising prices".

The following day, she published another message in recognition of Indigenous American contributions: "Today, we honor the brave Navajo Code Talkers. Those 29 men are the definition of strength and honor in the face of adversity.

We won’t let Trump erase their legacy."

Later on August 15, Rep. Leger Fernández invited constituents to seek assistance with federal agencies at her office’s walk-in hours: "Need help with a federal agency? My office is here to help. Stop by walk-in office hours on August 26."

Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández has served as the representative for New Mexico's third congressional district since first winning election in 2020. She was re-elected in both 2022 and 2024; most recently, she defeated Sharon Clahchischilliage in the general election with a vote margin of 162 (41.8%) to 126 (43.7%). In previous races, she prevailed over Alexis Martinez Johnson twice—in 2022 with a margin of 134 (58.2%) to 96 (41.8%), and in 2020 with a result of 186 (58.7%) to 131 (41.3%).
