Ant Thornton, Senator of New Mexico, said that new evidence is exposing a conspiracy by Obama Administration officials to damage President Trump and called for accountability to restore trust in the Republic. The statement was made on X.
"The walls are closing in on members of the Obama Administration as their conspiracy to tarnish President DJT with the Russian Hoax Story which is now being exposed… not with allegations, but with clear and direct evidence," said Anthony Linn Thornton, New Mexico State Senator from 198th District (R). "The noose is tightening as the co-conspirators are “lawyering up” and the complicit press are doing their best to ignore Obamagate! Let them feel the heat of the oncoming fire of justice… then bring the hammer down… HARD! It's the only way our Republic can heal itself and ensure something like this never happens again!"
In August 2025, ongoing investigations into the Russia probe and alleged Obama Administration involvement gained renewed attention after congressional Republicans cited recently declassified documents and testimony challenging the origins of the original FBI inquiry, as reported by The Hill.
According to Reuters, Justice Department court filings and statements as of August 2025 reveal federal investigators disclosed new contacts between FBI officials and political operatives during the Russia Hoax investigations. However, no fresh charges have been filed against former Obama Administration officials.
Reuters also reports that multiple investigations into the Russia probe have led to over a dozen prosecutions and several convictions for false statements and perjury, though few high-level officials were indicted or convicted.
Thornton, according to Ballotpedia, is a Republican New Mexico State Senator for District 19 since 2025. He was previously an aerospace executive and Navy officer who has called for greater oversight of intelligence agencies and government transparency.
