The National Association of State Budget Officers (NASBO) has chosen New Mexico as the location for its 2026 Spring Conference. The event will take place at Santa Ana Pueblo’s Tamaya Resort next March, attracting public finance officials and policy experts from across the United States.

"We’re honored to welcome our counterparts from across the country to New Mexico," said Wayne Propst, Secretary of the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA). "This is an opportunity to showcase New Mexico’s fiscal leadership and learn from the best minds in state government."

The conference will span several days and include keynote panels, workshops, and strategy sessions on topics such as state budgeting, fiscal policy, and government financial management. It is recognized as one of the leading gatherings for state budget leaders nationwide.

"This is a big moment for New Mexico," said Dr. Andrew Miner, Director of DFA's state budget division. "We’re proud to host this event and showcase the progress New Mexico is making in budget transparency, innovation, and fiscal responsibility."

Dr. Miner also serves as Western Regional Director on NASBO’s 2024–2025 executive committee and was selected in 2024 to train new budget analysts at NASBO’s annual Introduction to State Budgeting Seminar.

The DFA is actively involved with NASBO through participation in trainings, conferences, and peer exchanges. Hosting the 2026 Spring Conference offers a chance to highlight New Mexico’s fiscal leadership while benefiting local hospitality and tourism at one of the state's scenic venues.
