New Mexico announces property tax auctions across six counties in August

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

The Taxation and Revenue Department of New Mexico has announced a series of delinquent property tax auctions scheduled for August. These auctions will take place in Guadalupe, San Juan, Rio Arriba, Mora, Valencia, and Sandoval counties. The events are open to individuals who attend in person to bid on the properties.

The state intervenes to collect delinquent property taxes when counties cannot do so themselves. Delinquent taxpayers receive notifications about their outstanding taxes and the planned sales of their properties. If the state fails to collect these taxes, the properties are put up for auction.

The auctions are set as follows:

- Guadalupe County on August 5 at 10 a.m., located at 130 S. Fourth, Santa Rosa.

- San Juan County on August 13 at 10 a.m., at 100 S. Oliver Dr. Ste 300, Aztec.

- Rio Arriba County on August 14 at 10 a.m., at the Rio Arriba County Courthouse in Espanola.

- Mora County on August 19 at 10 a.m., at 1 Courthouse Dr., Mora.

- Valencia County on August 21 at 10 a.m., in the Commissioner’s Chambers in Los Lunas.

- Sandoval County has two sessions: August 27 and August 28, both at Bernalillo Recreation Center.

For more details, including auction terms and future auction announcements, visit the Delinquent Property Tax Auctions page on tax.newmexico.gov under Business and then Property Tax. Registration starts at 8 a.m. on auction days and ends when the auction begins; only registered bidders can participate.

The Taxation and Revenue Department aims to provide fair tax services across New Mexico while managing over 35 tax programs that benefit state, local, and tribal governments.
