New Mexico Museum of Space History welcomes two new employees

The New Mexico Museum of Space History has announced the addition of two new staff members, Brigette Smith and Levi Heisinger. Brigette Smith takes on the role of Front Desk Customer Service representative, bringing her experience in hotel front desk operations, retail management, and telecom sales to the museum. She expressed enthusiasm for her new position, stating, "Every day, it’s different." Smith also has a personal interest in astronomy and space exploration.

Levi Heisinger returns to the museum as an Education Coordinator and Planetarium Projectionist. He previously interned at the museum during the summer of 2022 and transitioned to a full-time role from 2023 to 2024. Heisinger holds an associate’s degree in arts from NMSUA and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in history while working full-time. He shared his sentiments about returning: "I feel like I am back home with my work family, teaching space science and having fun in the process."

In addition to their professional roles, both individuals have unique personal interests. Smith enjoys building terrariums and maintaining live plants in her aquarium. Meanwhile, Heisinger is active as a lead vocalist and guitarist in an alternative rock band and engages in astrophotography during his free time.
