Hailey Heinz has been named the new director of the Policy, Research, and Quality Initiatives Division at the New Mexico Early Childhood Education & Care Department (ECECD). The appointment was announced by ECECD on July 30, 2025.
Heinz will oversee policy development, research efforts, and quality improvement initiatives for early childhood programs across New Mexico. Her responsibilities include leading teams that analyze data to inform decision-making and working with stakeholders to support children and families in the state.
"Hailey brings a wealth of experience in early childhood policy and research," said an ECECD spokesperson. "Her leadership will be instrumental as we continue our work to improve outcomes for young children in New Mexico."
Heinz previously held roles focused on early education research and has worked with various organizations dedicated to child development. She is expected to collaborate closely with other divisions within ECECD as well as external partners.
The department stated that this appointment aligns with its ongoing commitment to advancing high-quality early learning opportunities throughout New Mexico.
