The City of Las Cruces is inviting residents to participate in the development of a master plan for Young Park. This initiative aims to enhance and preserve the park, located at 850 South Walnut Street, as a vital community space. The park features a pond, playgrounds, trails, picnic areas, restrooms, tennis courts, and a fishing area.

Katherine Harrison-Rogers, Parks and Recreation planning and construction administrator, emphasized the importance of adapting public spaces to meet community needs. "As Las Cruces continues to grow, it’s important that our public spaces grow with us," she said. "The Young Park Master Plan will help ensure the park meets the evolving needs of the community and remains a welcoming, inclusive space for all."

The master plan will focus on assessing current usage of the park, identifying challenges, and incorporating public feedback into future improvements. Residents can engage in this process by attending upcoming events on Friday, July 18 at Lynn Middle School and Saturday, July 19 at the Farmers and Crafts Market of Las Cruces.

These events offer opportunities for residents to share their experiences and suggestions regarding the park's future. Additional information about the project can be found at LasCruces.gov/YoungParkMasterPlan.
