The Silver City community is invited to attend the "Cabinet in Your Community" event on July 17, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Grant County Conference Center. This free event aims to connect residents with the administration of Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and state agency leaders to discuss recovery efforts following the recent Trout and Buck fires.
A State Services Expo will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., offering a range of resources tailored to support families and aid community recovery. Available services include emergency assistance for fire-affected residents, veteran benefits application support, information on childcare programs, employment resources, and pathways to education opportunities.
Attendees can also access Motor Vehicle Division services, tax assistance, hunting and fishing licenses, senior support services, Medicaid enrollment help, food benefits, energy support, WIC services, vaccines, and foster care resources.
NMDVS State Benefits personnel will be present to assist eligible veterans and widows/widowers with property tax waivers and other benefits claims. Required documents for verification include a copy of DD-214 or equivalent forms and proof of residency or marriage certificates for widows/widowers.
