The Stephen M. Bush Memorial Shooting Range in Clayton will be closed for maintenance on the third Wednesday of each month, starting July 16. The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish announced that the range will close at sunrise and reopen at sunrise the following day.
This closure is intended to allow contractors to safely perform maintenance and remove trash and debris from the range. During these closures, public access to the range will be completely restricted.
The Department urges the public to "recreate responsibly," which includes packing out all shooting trash, such as shell casings and targets, and refraining from shooting at glass or other unintended objects on the range.
