Universal light-touch home visiting program transitions to ECECD
The New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD) has announced the transition of the Universal Light-Touch Home Visiting Program to its management. This program, which offers support and resources to families with young children, aims to enhance early childhood development across the state.
Elizabeth Groginsky, Cabinet Secretary for ECECD, emphasized the importance of this transition. "We are excited to bring this valuable program under our umbrella," she stated. The department is committed to providing comprehensive services that promote healthy development in early childhood.
The Universal Light-Touch Home Visiting Program is designed to offer guidance and assistance without being intrusive. It provides families with access to resources and information that can aid in child-rearing practices.
"We believe that all families should have access to support during these critical years," said Sara Mickelson, Deputy Secretary at ECECD. The program's integration into ECECD is expected to streamline services and improve accessibility for families statewide.
This initiative reflects ECECD's ongoing efforts to strengthen early childhood education and care infrastructure in New Mexico. By taking over the program, the department aims to ensure consistent quality and availability of services for young children and their families.
