Families in New Mexico are invited to attend the Family Fun Festival on Saturday, July 12, from 10 AM to 2 PM at Del Norte Baptist Church in Albuquerque. The event aims to bring families together for a day of activities, including games and food trucks. Over 300 free backpacks filled with school supplies will be distributed to local students on a first-come, first-served basis.
Jodi Hendricks, Executive Director of New Mexico Family Action Movement (NM FAM), said that the festival is part of their "Cultivating Community initiative." She added, "The Family Fun Festival is our way of saying: ‘You’re not alone—we’re in this together.’"
Attendees can expect various activities such as games, face painting, and giveaway prizes. Food trucks will offer treats for purchase. Additionally, booths from organizations focusing on addiction recovery, educational options, churches, and counseling resources will be present.
The festival is organized by New Mexico Family Action Movement along with local churches and faith-based organizations. "We believe strong families build strong communities," Hendricks said. "This festival is just one way we can bring that belief to life."
Admission is free but registration is encouraged. Families are advised to arrive early for backpack pickup and enjoy the festivities before it gets too hot. More information and registration details are available at www.nmfam.org.
