Michael Kueker, the current CEO of Lovelace Medical Group, has been named interim CEO of Lovelace Health System. The appointment was announced on June 19, following the resignation of President and CEO Troy Greer. A national search is underway to find a permanent successor.

Vesta Sandoval, MD, chief medical officer of Lovelace Health System, expressed gratitude for Greer's leadership over the past two years. "We are grateful for Troy’s leadership over the past two years, during which Lovelace has continued to evolve to better serve communities across New Mexico," Sandoval said. She added that under Greer's tenure, the system made progress in integration, growth, and quality improvement. "With Michael’s leadership, we are confident the Lovelace team will continue building on this progress to meet the diverse healthcare needs of our region."

Kueker joined Lovelace in 2023 after serving as vice president of physician practice operations at Community Health Systems. He holds a degree from Kansas State University and an MBA from William Woods University. Kueker is also set to join the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Additionally, Brian Miller, CEO of Lovelace Medical Center, will take on extra duties as interim CEO for Lovelace UNM Rehabilitation Hospital.
