Las Cruces Public Art and the City Art Board are inviting the public to attend a dedication ceremony for a new mural at the Youth Development and Diversion (YDD) facility. The event is scheduled for Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at 814 N. Tornillo Street in the YDD parking lot.
The mural project was led by artist Jesus "Cimi" Alvarado and was made possible through the City’s Public Art Program. More than 70 community members participated in creating this colorful artwork. The design, selected with input from neighborhood public events and the City Art Board, embodies themes of growth, transformation, and creativity.
Attendees will have an opportunity to meet Mr. Alvarado and those involved in the mural's creation. Light refreshments will be available.
