Disaster resource center opens for fire victims in Los Lunas

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

A Disaster Resource Center has been established at the Daniel Fernandez Recreation Center in Los Lunas, New Mexico. It will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. until further notice. Residents of Valencia County affected by the Desert Willow Complex fires can access services such as document replacement, assistance with SNAP and Medicaid benefits, insurance inquiries and claims, disaster case management, and peer support.

Additionally, State Disaster Case Managers are stationed at the Grant County Business & Conference Center in Silver City, New Mexico. They will be available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily to help residents connect with necessary resources. Peer support workers are also present at this location.

For those unable to visit these centers, the State Disaster Helpline is accessible from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily at 1-833-663-4736. Further information about available resources can be found online at dhsem.nm.gov/2025wildfires.
