Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham has announced that rural health care providers in New Mexico can apply for funding from the Rural Health Care Delivery Fund starting July 1. This fund, totaling $20 million, is part of the governor's initiative to enhance health care services across the state.
“This $20 million investment demonstrates our dedication to improving rural health care access across New Mexico,” stated Gov. Lujan Grisham. “We encourage all eligible providers to take advantage of this opportunity and work with my administration to strengthen the health care services in their communities.”
This new funding builds on a previous investment of $126 million over two years, which helped rural health care providers offset costs and expand their services. The current funding cycle aims to increase access to primary care services statewide, focusing on enhancing community health infrastructure and improving outcomes for those living in rural areas.
To assist providers interested in applying, a webinar titled “FY26-28 Rural Health Care Delivery Fund: Overview and Application Guidance” will be held on July 2 from 4 to 5 p.m. MDT via Zoom. The session will provide details on eligibility requirements, application timelines, and advice for submitting proposals.
Providers can register for the webinar through an online link and find more information about the fund by visiting the Health Care Authority website at https://www.hca.nm.gov/primary-care-council/.
Additionally, communication services are offered in multiple languages including English and Spanish, with interpretation available in 58 languages through CTS Language Link. Relay New Mexico provides free 24-hour service for individuals who are deaf or have speech impairments.
