Lovelace Medical Group has initiated construction on a new urgent and primary care facility in Bernalillo, New Mexico. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on June 12, with the facility scheduled for completion in December.
Michael Kueker, CEO of Lovelace Medical Group and an incoming member of the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, emphasized the importance of addressing limited access to primary care in New Mexico. "We understand the limited access to primary care in New Mexico and are proud to open a location in Bernalillo to help alleviate this problem," Kueker stated. He further noted that combining urgent care with primary care services is a natural fit, adding that three primary care physicians are already prepared to serve at the new location upon its opening.
Whitney Alcantar, communications manager for Lovelace, highlighted the significance of this development for improving healthcare access in Rio Rancho and Bernalillo. "This is an important milestone for Lovelace as we continue to create a better, more convenient health care experience for consumers," Alcantar said. She explained that urgent care clinics address needs requiring quick appointments or non-emergency treatments.
The new facility will be located at 554 Venada Plaza Drive in Bernalillo. Lovelace operates five hospitals, 33 healthcare clinics, and seven outpatient therapy clinics. It employs over 3,500 individuals and maintains 619 inpatient beds across its network. Lovelace has been associated with the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce since 1996.
