Albuquerque Reads is seeking volunteers for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. The program, which focuses on helping kindergarten and first-grade students improve their literacy skills, operates in collaboration with Albuquerque Public Schools and the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce.

The initiative provides one-on-one tutoring sessions at three elementary schools: Whittier, Atrisco, and Bel-Air. Each student receives 90 minutes of personalized literacy tutoring weekly from September to May. Additionally, participants are supplied with up to 20 books for their home libraries and have access to online reading resources.

Tutor training is scheduled to take place in September at the respective school sites. Those interested in volunteering can find more information by visiting abqreads.com or contacting [email protected].

"Join Albuquerque Public Schools, the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce and volunteers like you to make a lasting difference in a child’s life."
