Applications are now open for special military and veteran hunts for oryx and pronghorn. Injured military service members can apply online starting June 11 for up to 10 special oryx authorizations at White Sands Missile Range. Resident Purple Heart recipients can apply for up to five special pronghorn authorizations at Melrose Air Force Base. Active-duty military personnel stationed in New Mexico are eligible for six additional special pronghorn authorizations at the same location. The application deadline is July 16 at 5 p.m. MDT. All applicants, except resident Disabled Veteran cardholders for oryx, must submit supporting documentation to the Department before the deadline.
