Deb Haaland, a candidate for New Mexico governor, outlined her economic agenda at a "Breaking Barriers" event hosted by the New Mexico chapter of the American Marketing Association in Albuquerque. During her speech, Haaland discussed plans to support small businesses and create new economic opportunities in the state.
“There’s no reason New Mexico can’t lead the country in tech investments, clean energy research and production, and a robust, homegrown film industry,” said Deb Haaland. “Our state is making progress, but there’s so much more to be done.”
Haaland has engaged with small business owners, workers, and local officials to understand their challenges. Her proposal aims to compensate for federal cuts affecting small businesses in New Mexico, enhance site readiness efforts, and attract industries across the state. She plans to continue discussions with local communities and share more details about her economic plan.
“Deb Haaland is about bringing solutions to the table that change the game for everyone. She’s building a winning coalition to take New Mexico into the future,” stated Felicia Salazar, Haaland’s deputy campaign manager and spokesperson. “We’re excited to continue unveiling our roadmap over the coming weeks and months.”
Haaland's campaign has received endorsements from various local elected officials and organizations. Supporters include Senator Ben Ray Luján; Representatives Teresa Leger Fernandez, Melanie Stansbury, and Gabe Vasquez; as well as Conservation Voters New Mexico Action Fund and EMILYs List.
