The New Mexico State Fair will host its annual Military & Veterans Day on September 9, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Expo New Mexico in Albuquerque. This event is organized by the New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services (NMDVS), the New Mexico National Guard, and the New Mexico State Fair to honor military service members.

Attendees can enjoy various rides and attractions at the fair. Numerous booths, exhibits, and information tables will be available throughout the fairgrounds, staffed by NMDVS, the New Mexico National Guard, VA, and other veterans' organizations and community service groups.

Military veterans and National Guard/Reserve/active-duty service members will receive free admission to the fair with a valid ID or uniform. The gates open at 10 a.m., with displays and information tables accessible until 3 p.m. A special ceremony is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. under the large NMSF Pavilion Stage in the food court area. The fairgrounds will close at 9:00 p.m.

Veterans, National Guard/Reserve personnel, and retirees must present specific identification such as a Uniformed Services Retiree Identification Card or a veterans-designation driver’s license to gain free entry. Active-duty personnel are required to show a valid Uniformed Services ID card. Parking fees still apply for all attendees at any fairground parking lot. Non-veteran/non-military spouses or family members do not qualify for free admission.
