Delinquent property tax auctions set for June in New Mexico counties

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

The Taxation and Revenue Department has announced that delinquent property tax auctions will take place in De Baca, Roosevelt, and Chaves counties in June. The state steps in to collect unpaid property taxes when counties are unable to do so. Delinquent taxpayers are notified about the taxes owed and the planned sales of their properties. If the state cannot collect these taxes, the properties are auctioned.

Auctions have been scheduled as follows: De Baca County on June 11 at 9 a.m. at Ft. Sumner District Court; Roosevelt County on June 11 at 1 p.m. at 109 W 1st St, Portales; and Chaves County on June 12 at 10 a.m. at Chaves County Administrative Center.

For more information, including auction terms and future announcements, visit the Delinquent Property Tax Auctions page under Business and then Property Tax on tax.newmexico.gov. Questions can be directed to 505-827-0883.

Registration for bidders begins in person at 8 a.m. on the day of each auction and closes promptly at auction time. Only registered bidders may participate.
