Officials from First National 1870 marked the opening of their new Uptown location on May 19. The Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce joined the celebration with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the branch located at 6605 Uptown Blvd NE, Suite 120.
The company, also known as Sunflower Bank or Guardian Mortgage, provides a wide range of financial products. Sunflower Bank was founded in 1892 and operates as First National 1870 in Albuquerque, Los Alamos, and Santa Fe. Its history traces back to 1870.
Sunflower Bank, N.A., headquartered in Dallas, reported $8.2 billion in assets as of March 31, 2025. It operates with 71 licensed depository branches and offers mortgage services across 43 states.
The Chamber extended congratulations to Scott Czarniak, regional president, and Jaidon Holland, Uptown branch manager, for the establishment of the new location in Albuquerque. First National 1870 has been affiliated with the Chamber since March 2013.
First National 1870 opened its second location in Uptown on May 19.
