The New Mexico Association of Non-public Schools (NMANS) has announced the launch of its new website, www.nmans.org. The site is designed to highlight and support the efforts of non-public schools throughout New Mexico.
According to NMANS, the website aims to underscore the role and impact of both accredited and non-accredited non-public schools across the state. It seeks to foster stronger relationships among school leaders, families, and local communities. The platform features updates on key state and federal policies affecting non-public education, provides networking opportunities among similar institutions, and offers resources to support school administrators in their roles. Additionally, it assists families in finding schools suited to their children’s specific needs.
NMANS encourages school leaders and parents to visit www.nmans.org to verify that their school is listed correctly. Due to the diverse and constantly changing landscape of non-public schools in New Mexico, NMANS emphasizes the importance of maintaining an accurate online directory.
"We believe non-public schools are an essential part of New Mexico’s educational landscape," said Executive Director Bob Ippel. "This new platform is a step toward building stronger community ties, greater visibility, and a deeper sense of shared purpose among our schools."
Founded in 1973 and affiliated with the Council for American Private Education, NMANS is a nonprofit organization that supports the independence of New Mexico’s non-public schools through advocacy, collaboration, and public engagement. It aims to defend educational diversity, support parental choice, facilitate communication among educational institutions and agencies, and promote shared responsibility for quality education across both public and non-public sectors. A significant achievement came in 2018 when the New Mexico Supreme Court upheld state textbook funding for non-public schools. NMANS includes 19 member schools and serves a broader network of approximately 140 private schools across New Mexico.
