Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has signed 10 bills into law in Santa Fe. These new laws aim to address various issues including worker protections, education, public safety, economic development, and community support.
The signed legislation includes measures under economic development and worker protections such as HB 006, IRB Project Minimum Wage; HB 020, Technology & Innovation Division; and SB 059, Public Works Minimum Wage Definitions.
In education and student safety, the legislation includes HB 054, which mandates defibrillators in every high school, and HB 532, which provides student water safety guidance.
For public safety and legal improvements, the signed bills are SB 070, Add Racketeering Crimes; and SB 168, Travel Insurance Act.
Addressing community support and governance, the governor signed HB 172, New Mexico Red & Green Chile Month; HB 218, Tax Changes; and HB 252, Kinship Caregiver Support Pilot Program.
