Zach Fort, New Mexico Shooting Sports Association (NMSSA) Treasurer and Legislative Director, said Gov. Lujan Grisham is one of the “most anti-Second Amendment governors in the country,” noting her attempt to nullify the Second Amendment through an executive order, leading to multiple lawsuits against her. Fort was a guest on a recent episode of the Tipping Point New Mexico podcast.
"She's about the most anti-Second Amendment woman governor in the country," said Fort on the Tipping Point New Mexico podcast. “I know you've got people like Newsom out in California and in New York, but at the same time, she tried to nullify the Second Amendment through an executive order. I mean, this is stuff that Newsom himself hasn’t even done. So that's why, I mean, we’ve sued her a bunch of times before.”
“We sued her immediately when she did that,” said Fort. “She is not a friend of the Second Amendment, and because of what she tried to do with that executive order, she knew it was blatantly unconstitutional, but she still tried it anyway, and she expected police officers to enforce this stuff. That’s why I say that I don’t believe it’s hyperbole to say that she is the most anti-Second Amendment governor in this country.”
This edition of the podcast features guest Zach Fort, who returns to Tipping Point NM. Fort, handling legislative affairs for the NMSSA, discusses threats to gun rights, crime, and the potential for meaningful action against it in the 2025 legislative session. The conversation also covers Governor Lujan Grisham's stance on gun rights.
NMSSA is a non-profit focused on promoting firearm safety, supporting law enforcement and military training, organizing shooting events, and advocating for responsible firearm ownership.
