Agents with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Deming Station have arrested an individual for allegedly smuggling two unaccompanied minors. Sector Chief Anthony "Scott" Good announced the arrest in a post on X dated January 26.
According to Good's post, agents from the Deming Station "successfully arrested an illegal alien attempting to smuggle two unaccompanied minors, putting an end to a dangerous situation and safeguarding innocent lives."
The Deming Station was established in 1927 with two inspectors responsible for overseeing 135 miles of international border, as said on the U.S. Customs and Border Protection website dedicated to the station.

The U.S. Border Patrol El Paso Sector manages approximately 268 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border, covering West Texas and New Mexico. The New Mexico portion includes operations at Lordsburg, Deming, and Santa Teresa stations. Agents patrol various terrains including urban areas, desert landscapes, and mountainous regions to ensure border security. The El Paso Sector is tasked with processing individuals encountered along the border and collaborates with state and local law enforcement for security operations. It employs surveillance technology to detect unauthorized crossings and other border activities.
The U.S. Border Patrol operates under the Department of Homeland Security and is responsible for protecting the nation's borders against illegal entry of people and contraband. Since its establishment in 1924, it has been active across 328 ports of entry while safeguarding approximately 7,000 miles of land borders and an extensive 95,000 miles of maritime borders.
