Stephanie Dzur of the Coalition for Clean Affordable Energy (CCAE) announced that the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission (PRC) has approved the Solar Direct Program. This initiative, supported by both the CCAE and the Sierra Club's Rio Grande Chapter, is designed to enhance access to solar energy in New Mexico.

According to Stephanie Dzur, “We are pleased with this decision from the PRC. It marks a significant step forward in our efforts to expand renewable energy resources in New Mexico.”

The program aims to provide customers with more options for accessing solar power, thereby contributing to cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions across the state.

Mona Blaber from the Sierra Club – Rio Grande Chapter expressed her support for the program as well. She stated, “This approval represents an important opportunity for residents and businesses alike to reduce their carbon footprint while enjoying potential cost savings on their energy bills.”

The Solar Direct Program reflects ongoing efforts by local organizations and government bodies to increase renewable energy usage within New Mexico. It is expected that this program will facilitate broader adoption of solar technology among consumers who are interested in making environmentally conscious choices.

With its implementation, stakeholders anticipate a positive impact on both environmental sustainability and economic efficiency for participants throughout the region.
