Westside Summerfest highlights local bands and artisans this August

Ventana Ranch Community Park on Albuquerque's westside will be bustling with local participants on Saturday, August 3 during Westside Summerfest from 5 to 10 p.m. In addition to local bands on two stages, the final installment of the summer concert series will showcase small businesses offering handcrafted products, delicacies, and libations.

Westside Summerfest is dedicated to promoting local talent and will feature performances from:

East Stage

5:15 p.m. – DK & The Affordables - rock

6:30 p.m. – Entourage Jazz - jazz

7:45 p.m. – The High Desert Playboys - Americana/folk

9 p.m. – Silver Sky Blues Band - blues/rockabilly

West Stage

5 p.m. – The Rudy Boy Experiment - southwest rock

6:15 p.m. – Big K & Blue Train - blues

7:30 p.m. – Nathaniel Krantz - country

8:45 p.m. – Divino - traditional Latin

"This is a great opportunity to get outside and celebrate the unofficial end of summer with friends and family," said Mayor Tim Keller. "Experiencing live entertainment, local food, flavor and art in a fun, safe environment makes Westside Summerfest an Albuquerque favorite."

A variety of food trucks will be on site offering everything from barbeque to Italian ice. Local breweries, wineries, and distilleries will be serving their award-winning creations in The Cantina. Local artisans will showcase their handmade items ranging from jewelry to candles in The Shops. Free kids' activities will include face painting, inflatable jumpies, and a 25-foot climbing wall.

The Society for Creative Anachronism’s local chapter, Barony of al-Barran, will recreate the Middle Ages with Court Dancing, Melee Battles, and Rapier Duels. Kids can even Fight A Knight at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Free parking will be available at CNM Westside Campus. Free shuttles will take event-goers to and from the park throughout the event. Shuttles are not ADA accessible. Strollers, lawn chairs, canopies, and coolers are allowed on shuttles. Glass items or alcohol are not permitted on shuttles.

If street parking is available in the surrounding area, please be sure to follow all parking laws and do not block residential or business access. Limited parking is available at the park.

Westside Summerfest is free to the public. Pets on leashes are welcome. This is a rain or shine event. Please note that glass and alcohol are not permitted in public parks.
