APD investigates shooting of teenager in Southwest Albuquerque

APD detectives are investigating an overnight shooting that critically injured a 14-year-old boy in Southwest Albuquerque.

Officers were initially alerted to a ShotSpotter activation shortly before 8 p.m. on Tuesday at 10605 Connemara Ave., S.W., which is south of Central Ave, near 114th St. A few minutes later, a call was placed to 911 about a 14-year-old boy who was struck by bullets.

Officers responded and the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

Detectives with the APD’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit obtained video surveillance showing a white Dodge pickup that may be related to the shooting. Detectives are requesting help from the public to identify the truck and its occupants at the time and location of the shooting.
