New Mexico State University’s Golf Course has once again made it to Golf Advisor’s list of “Top 25 College Golf Courses - Golfers’ Choice 2024.” Jason White, the golf course director at NMSU Golf Course, expressed his pride in the achievement, stating, “The ranking validates all the hard work we have done over the years. For the most part, we are self-made.”
White highlighted the efforts put in by the maintenance staff at the golf course, mentioning, “Besides the new irrigation system that was installed in 2014, the improvements made to the golf course layout have been completed by our maintenance staff. A ranking like this, voted on by golfers, proves we are moving in the right direction.”
NMSU secured the 18th spot on the list, which takes into account reviews, ratings, and green fee information. White emphasized the significance of the golf course in enhancing the university's image, saying, “Our golf course has the opportunity to elevate the image of the university and this ranking helps on that front.”
In terms of inclusivity, White highlighted the course’s commitment to golfers of all levels and abilities. He stated, “First and foremost, our culture and our commitment are to golfers of all levels and abilities.”
The NMSU Golf Course offers lesson programming for golfers of all skill levels and a well-equipped pro shop with a wide range of golf equipment and NMSU merchandise. White also acknowledged the support received from various stakeholders, stating, “Without the support of the NMSU students, Auxiliary Services team, administration, and of course our customers, we would not have been able to accomplish a fraction of what you see today at the NMSU Golf Course.”
