New Mexico State University (NMSU) has announced that the Las Cruces International Film Festival (LCIFF) will honor Golden Globe-winning actor Ron Perlman with its "Outstanding Achievement in Entertainment" award at this year's festival. Perlman, known for his extensive career spanning over three decades, has displayed his acting prowess in various roles, including memorable performances in Guillermo del Toro's "Hellboy" and FX's "Sons of Anarchy."

The ninth annual LCIFF, scheduled to take place from April 3 to 7, is supported by New Mexico State University and Visit Las Cruces. During the festival, Perlman will be honored at the LCIFF VIP Party following a special screening of "Hellboy" on April 4, at 7 p.m. A question-and-answer session at the Allen Theatres Cineport 10 on 700 S Telshor Boulevard is also planned. According to a press release by NMSU, Perlman's upcoming projects include roles in "The Retirement Plan" alongside Nicolas Cage, "Thug" opposite Liam Neeson, and the Amazon Prime reboot of "Mr. And Mrs. Smith."

LCIFF founder and executive director Ross Marks praised Perlman in a press release by NMSU saying, "Ron Perlman is a legendary actor known for his historic roles in "Sons of Anarchy" and "Hellboy." His outstanding and diverse body of work is simply impressive. He is the consummate actor whose values and work ethic reflect the film festival. It is a thrill the festival can honor him in person, and we are beyond ecstatic to have him as the face of the 2024 film festival."

Hosted by New Mexico State University, LCIFF is a public event featuring programs, workshops, films, lectures, and events designed to provide both entertainment and education. LCIFF prioritizes creating a safe and secure environment for all attendees while reserving the right to deny or terminate press privileges. Offerings are available to LCIFF public ticket holders, invited sponsors, filmmakers, VIP pass holders, and guests, according to the press registration webpage provided by LCIFF.
